Aquarium Equipment
At CoraroC, we don’t promote any single method or piece of equipment for success. Over the years, we’ve experimented with a wide range of techniques and products and found that beautiful aquariums can be achieved in many different ways. Currently, we keep our systems very simple.

Lighting: We primarily use LED lighting, including Philips Coral Care and Radion G6, along with some Aqua Illumination Hydra units. In the past, we’ve also successfully used T5 and metal halide lighting.

Circulation: We aim for strong and varied water movement, typically achieved with stream pumps.

Biological Filtration: A mix of live rock, ceramic rings, and similar materials provides ample surface area for beneficial bacteria.

Other Filtration: A protein skimmer or filtration system. Occasionally, we use manual roll filters, phosphate, or nitrate filters, but only as needed.

Dosing: Balling Classic with dosing pumps. Nitrate and phosphate are dosed only when necessary.
